PicoSearch

Simply type a few words describing what you are looking for in the box, and click 'Search'. You can also search for combined terms (exact phrases) by surrounding them in quotes.

Example searches include:

     "hunting dogs" trainers

"political scandals" president "United States of America"

     address adresses contact contacting information

Capitalization doesn't matter. The ranked results will come from a total match on the words and phrases which you supply, so try to think of several specific terms for your topic and spell them correctly. It's good to include important plurals and derived words too, as in the last example.

A sequence of words not in quotes implicitly specifies an OR relationship, so that the search engine will retrieve the best documents that match the query by weighing all of the results. If all of the search words are found in a document, that document will be weighted appropriately higher than a document which contains only a couple of those words. A Fuzzy-Match algorithm is used; all of the words that are searched are weighted so you will get the best match for the information that you are seeking.

The results include an 'in context' line, showing the words searched along with the five to ten words before and after as they appear on the page. This should enable you to find what you are seeking more quickly.
