Based in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland, Joan Shannon has been providing commercial photography and publishing services: design, editing, proofing and writing, since 1991. In 1996 she began publishing and distributing a new matt effect range of eight local view postcards. In 2009 the postcards of Ulster number over 70 views. As a commercial photographer and writer, Joan welcomes commissions. She also has a photo library of slides, negative film and digital files. They mostly cover landscape, scenery, tourism, coasts, architecture, transport, conservation, environment, plants, still life and fine art topics.

Buttons and Beads: glass and semi-precious bead jewellery, was added in 2007. The knitted hats side, beanies and berets, became available in 2008.
